Boxes in Motion is a project on dividing and understanding a larger whole and perceiving divided objects as a whole. Why and how do people create boxes to comprehend information productively? And how do we learn things? The work deals with order and systems. Its main tool is playing and finding answers empirically through a game.
This work was produced in the context of a lecture held by Lucie Strecker.

Bei dem Projekt Boxes in Motion geht es um das Aufteilen und das Verstehen eines größeren Ganzes und die geteilten Objekte als Ganzes wahrzunehmen. Warum und wie erschaffen Menschen Boxen, um Information produktiv zu bearbeiten? Die Arbeit beschäftigt sich mit Ordnung und Systemen. Das Werkzeug ist das Spiel, wodurch Antworten empirisch gefunden werden. Wie lernen wir Dinge?
Diese Arbeit entstand in einem Seminar geleitet von Lucie Strecker.
Kaloyan Vasev is an artist from Varna, Bulgaria, who currently studies in Vienna. He has experience on stage as a musician and actor, improviser, but also as a director. His philosophy and worldview are based on sincerity, inner truth, needs of society and collectiveness, as well as on traditions, rituals, magic and caring for the human soul. Kaloyan has worked on different performances and plays written by other authors. Lately, he has been creating performative projects of his own. A lot of his inspiration comes from science, philosophy, and psychology, but also from topics of his current study – geology.
Kaloyan Vasev ist ein Künstler aus Varna, Bulgarien, der derzeit in Wien studiert. Er hat Bühnenerfahrung als Musiker und Schauspieler, als Improvisator, aber auch als Regisseur. Seine Philosophie und Weltansicht basieren auf Aufrichtigkeit, innerer Wahrheit, Bedürfnissen der Gesellschaft und Kollektivität sowie auf Traditionen, Ritualen, Magie und der Sorge um die menschliche Seele. Bis heute hat Kaloyan an verschiedenen Performance- und Theaterstücken anderer Autor*innen teilgenommen und arbeitet derzeit an eigenen performativen Projekten. Seine Inspiration kommt von der Philosophie und Psychologie, aber auch aus Naturwissenschaften und seinem aktuellen Studium – Geologie.
